welcome back;

I told myself that I would write more and blog more about what I've been doing artistically and anything that has been on my mind and I have not done so. I apologize. There should be no excuses to why I haven't been posting. Here's the update so far in my life:

  • I am taking yet another ceramics class and the first project we were assigned is to create something that has to do with sustainability. You think it would be an easy task. Clay, which is pretty much mud, is earthware. It's environmentally safe, it itself is sustainable. That's where you start to realize. FUCK. I could do anything. Ceramic shoes. A planter. Plus it's the message you're trying to get through with it. This project was originally for a student art show on sustainability, but the direction of the gallery went a different route, so we will be installing these in various places on the college campus. My idea? A pile of potato chip bags--crumbled and opened. Probably putting flowers in them or dirt spilling out of some of them. OH THE IRONY. The idea came from a bag of Sun Chips. Sun Chips are now making their bags compostable. Where after a shorter period of time, they will disintegrate into the ground and turn into the earth. Whereas before they would take up space in a landfill out someplace.
  • Another thing that's happened is that I'm finally moving out of the community college scene. I have been accepted to a university about two hours away from where I live. Finally, I can move on to another chapter in my life.

  • I can't think of anything else at the moment, on the account I'm watching Forrest Gump on my computer as I type this. Forrest is running and he's about to get accepted to college and play football for them. LOL. YES. This movie is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES. I can quote a nice big chunk of this movie. "That must be the stupidest son of bitch alive, but he sure is fast." & "I must've had be about fifteen Dr. Peppers."

It was nice catching up. I need to do this more often. Both blog and watch Forrest Gump.
